POOL NEWS July 2015
Our pool officially opened with lifeguard support on Memorial Day weekend. After a couple weeks of daily activity, we need to emphasize a few things. We appreciate the efforts of the homeowners who have been keeping both of the pool doors closed tightly. The hall area is air conditioned and this saves us money. It is imperative to close the door firmly so that only WR homeowners can enter the pool with the proper code.
The new pool code and pool rules were recently delivered to eligible homeowners. If you have paid full dues and did not receive the code/pool rules, please contact our management company, All-In-One Community Management (AIO) (678)363-6479.
An incident involving harassment of a lifeguard has been reported. The lifeguards have been instructed that if anyone does not comply with pool rules they are to be told to leave the pool area. If the individual or individuals do not comply, the lifeguard has been instructed to call the lifeguard’s pool company. If the harassment is of such a nature that intimidation or a threat is perceived, the lifeguard will call the police. We ask that all homeowners and their guests support the lifeguards in carrying out their responsibilities.
We have also had recent situations where lifeguards have not been on duty as scheduled (1 pm to 8 pm daily). If a homeowner comes to the pool and no lifeguard is present during scheduled lifeguard hours, please contact AIO (678)363-6479. AIO will immediately notify the pool company as well as one of the Walkers Ridge Board or committee chairman if necessary.
The pool rules must be complied with for the safety of our homeowners and their guests. Pool hours are from 8 am until 11 pm daily. If a lifeguard is not present (8 am to 1 pm and 8 pm to 8 am), it is “swim at your own risk”. Lifeguard coverage will on be on weekends after school starts.
When no lifeguard is present, no one under 16 is allowed in the pool area without being accompanied by a responsible person 18 years or older. This rule protects your children and your property.
The pool/clubhouse/tennis areas are closed from 11 pm until 8 am daily. No one (including homeowners) is allowed in the pool area during that time period. If you see activity at the pool or on the grounds that is not a clubhouse event or tennis match, call the police. Do not handle it yourself.
Pool parties are not allowed at Walker's Ridge Pool. Homeowners are allowed 6 guests from outside of the neighborhood. Neighbors who do not pay full dues may not use the pool and are not guests. Gatherings at the pool or pavilion can only be among those who pay full dues. Any party that involves swimming AND outside guests must be booked through the clubhouse. The calendar and information regarding parties is located at walkersridge.net.
Thanks for all of your help in keeping the pool area clean and neat. It is our neighborly duty to pick up trash, straighten chairs, close umbrellas, and put obvious lost and found items in the lost and found when you leave the pool. Both doors to the pool area are to be closed at all times for safety reasons. Help save on the power bill by turning the bathroom lights off. The swim team does a great job helping out at the pool. Thank you! Should homeowners have any question concerning pool operations, please contact AIO. Have a great summer!
Please look in Lost and Found for your belongings. You will find items in the white cubbies mounted on the walls. At the end of swim season all towels and t-shirts will be donated to the animal shelter.
