Welcome to Walker's Ridge subdivision website. We are located in Marietta, Georgia and very close to the Kennesaw National Battlefield Park and approx. 15 minutes from historical downtown Marietta Square. Our GPS address is: 2111 Breconridge Drive, Marietta, GA 30064

Our subdivision has protected covenants that is adhered by all residents. We have residents that volunteer and are elected board members to be on our Homeowners Association. Our subdivision is zoned to attend 3 outstanding schools: Cheatham Hill Elementary School, Lovinggood Middle School, and Hillgrove High School. Our amenities include a beautiful clubhouse, pavilion with grills, large swimming pool, 4 tennis courts, large playground, and a fitness trail. We have a very active lifestyle with regular social activities and gatherings throughout the year. We have several ALTA tennis teams and our children have an annual Swim Team. We are proud that our subdivision is formally on Cobb County’s Crime Awareness Program. Our residents are aware and we look out for each other.

Holiday Fun! Monday December 1st 7 PM
Announcements

Many years ago, when Walkers Ridge was a brand new neighborhood, it was decided to have Christmas traditions. These traditions included candles in the window, red bows on the mailboxes and a special luminary night. The ladies had a night to gather together and make red bows for the mailboxes. It was a very popular night with lots of ladies in attendance. The neighborhood was new and our ladies gathered together to make red bows for their mailboxes (and to meet neighbors).

Fast forward almost 30 years!! Ladies are still gathering together but we have branched out. We are gathering for a night of creativity, fun and food. Mark your calendars for Monday, December 1st at the clubhouse. Please note this is right after Thanksgiving, but you do not have to do anything but show up! We will have all the supplies to make crafts, some yummy snacks and the red ribbon to make a beautiful bow for your mailbox.

Ladies, this is a perfect night to let Dad put the kids to bed, stay up a bit past your bedtime or relax after a day at work. It will be a busy weekend but you get to just show up and enjoy! We are doing it for you!

We do need to make sure that we have enough food and supplies so please email Debbie Stewart at debbieandjeff@comcast.net if you plan to come! This is our third year of making crafts to take home with you and everyone who came in past years had a great time! It is a very simple night! Come when you can-make some fun Christmas crafts and spend time with some great ladies!

Tennis Court Reservations
Announcements

We are implementing a new tennis court reservation system for the neighborhood to help with scheduling as we have so many players in various leagues.

ACTION REQUIRED BY YOU!
In order to reserve a court you will need to register. You do this by going to http://holdmycourt.com/reserve2/index.php?dir=walkersridge there are two blocks Sign In OR New Registration. If this is your first time at the site, choose New Registration, put in your Name, email, and phone number. The site will email you a password. Once you have that, you can return to the reservation page, sign in and then make your reservation.

First select the day you wish to reserve a court, then choose the court and the time.

We have set up all four courts in the system as follows:
Court 1 front club house
Court 2 back club house
Court 3 Wilshire drive - gate court
Court 4 Wilshire drive court on right

This will eliminate the trips to the courts just to sign up on the paper sheets. This is a free service that is funded total by the advertisers on the web site.

If you have any questions contact: Jeff Cross, Tennis Chair

* email JeffLCross@hotmail.com
* Phone 770-861-8988

See you on the courts!

Speeding and Stop Signs
Announcements We have had residents voice concerns about speeders in our neighborhood as well as drivers running STOP signs. The speed limit is 25 miles an hour so please remember to slow down as you enter our neighborhood! We have many residents who enjoy walking and many are also walking their dogs. We also have children walking to and from the buses, riding bikes, etc. We want to keep everyone safe so please slow down!

We are very concerned that drivers are running the STOP signs particularly at the intersection of Wilshire Drive and Walker's Ridge Drive. Those driving on Walker's Ridge Drive have the right of way so those drivers on Wilshire should come to a full STOP. (Georgia law states that all vehicles must come to a FULL STOP at all STOP signs.)We have witnessed many near misses especially at that intersection and we certainly do not want any accidents there or anywhere in the neighborhood. Please drive carefully.

Thank you all for your help in this matter.

Announcements A Nook reader was found by a Walker Ridge resident while she was on her walk on Nov 4th. It was lying on the ground/in the leaves at the bottom of the hill on Walker's Ridge Dr. on the opposite side of where the trail comes out. She picked it up & brought it home. If anyone can describe the contents, and wish to claim it, please contact the web administrator, for coordination with the person holding the reader.
